August 9-11, 2002 --  75th Anniversary Celebration of Lindbergh's Return to his Boyhood Home

The community of Little Falls, together with the Lindbergh Foundation, are co-sponsoring a celebration linked to the time in August 1927 when Lindbergh returned to Little Falls, Minnesota, as part of his 82-city tour to promote the idea of commercial aviation.  An air show on Saturday, August 10, features the Experimental Aircraft Association’s flying Spirit of St. Louis (weather permitting).  The Red Baron Squadron will be the featured performer.  In addition, a commemorative parade and dinner, fireworks, members of an international collector's organization plan to display their Lindbergh memorabilia, and other family activities are being planned.  The Minnesota Historical Society is also expanding its visitor's center and plans to hold a grand opening celebration during this special anniversary weekend.
