As a certified woman-owned business, SyllogisTeks is committed to improving the diversity of IT and Engineering in St. Louis and beyond. Founded by Marilyn (Maurie) and Tom Smith in 1992 in the basement of their home, SyllogisTeks has been dedicated to excellence in staffing for more than 30 years. Now led by Lisa Null, their daughter, SyllogisTeks is truly a family business - one where relationships and a commitment to honesty and integrity are valued. Below is a brief introduction to the company's rich, unique history.
1992
- SyllogisTeks is founded by Marilyn (Maurie) and Tom Smith.
- Their combined experience working for IT-related businesses and staffing firms provides a solid foundation for the company.
- Tom begins performing consulting services under the SyllogisTeks name.
1993
- Maurie and Tom hire their first employee.
- Sixth months after founding SyllogisTeks, 12-15 additional people are placed into consultant positions.
1995
- Lisa Null, Maurie and Tom's daughter, graduates with an English degree and starts working for SyllogisTeks.
- Using her writing skills, Lisa helps with press releases and other marketing tasks.
- Steve Winchester, SyllogisTeks's first salesperson and sales manager, is hired.
1996
- Scott Null was hired as a consultant. He later transitioned to working internally at SyllogisTeks in 1998, starting the SyllogisTeks back-office team.
1997
- Maurie becomes President of SyllogisTeks.
- SyllogisTeks continues to grow, providing consultants for computer operations, project management, document conversions, database management, computer programming, and more.
2000
- SyllogisTeks hires Neal Osler as Director of Operations and Recruitment.
2001
- Maurie takes over as Board Chair, CEO, and President.
- Tom relinquishes his title of CEO and Director to pursue outside interests including beginning Ispirian, a computer forensics company
2008
- Hired Troy Walker as an IT Recruiter.
2012
- Lisa Null becomes President of SyllogisTeks.
- Maurie continues on as CEO.
2016
- On January 1st, Maurie retires from SyllogisTeks.
- Lisa becomes CEO, in addition to her existing role as President.
2018
- Doug Fenstermacher is hired as an IT Account Manager.
- Troy transitions to Technical Director.
2022
- Steve Winchester retires.
- Doug Fenstermacher becomes Sales Director.
2025
- SyllogisTeks starts their Engineering Division with the hire of Sheldon Rushing as the company's first Account Manager focused on this vertical.
